Happy International Day for Gender Equality 2022
You can now buy and play games by women-led studios from all over the world on Steam during the Women’s Day Steam event, going from 7-11 March. You also have another opportunity to play the Blueberry demo or update if in case you already have it in your Steam library.
Blueberry is a game about the struggles of a woman throughout her whole life, from being a neglected girl, to a cynical teenager, to an adult struggling with motherhood, up until an elderly lady looking back on her life.
Mellow Games wants to celebrate women and gender diverse people, interesting characters of all genders in games and games made by and/or for women and gender diverse creators. This absolutely includes trans women, trans men and non-binary folks <3
It is important that games, like any other medium, show us that interesting characters need to be diverse in order to show that traits like white, cis, male and euro- or anglocentric are not the ones describing default humans. Culture is more interesting if we show the many other views and lenses to see the world through and we would like to celebrate this.
